Which one to pick ? B.Sc Computer Science or BCA ?

Computer science and technology are the driving forces of the economy especially today. Technology helps the country grow. It has an impact on every single aspect of our lives, to the extent that we have stopped noticing it. This is one industry that helps the nation go forward. And as it does so, more jobs are created within the industry. Rabindranath Tagore University established the department of computer science keeping this in mind. After completing 10+2 examinations, many students opt for studying in the field of information technology. Although, students tend to get confused as there are so many options when it comes to choosing a course. The students can pursue B.Tech, BCA and B.Sc in Computer Science, but all these degree courses are different from each other despite having the same core subject. Unlike BCA, B.Sc in computer science has a more structured course curriculum. This course builds strong conceptual knowledge of all the core subjects related to the computer science subject. The faculty of computer science at Rabindranath Tagore University ensures that the students understand the concepts well. Any student opting for this course has to pass the HSC examination in the PCM stream. Some of the topics covered in this course include programming concepts, disk operations, and control structures.

Some differences between BCA and B.Sc in Computer Science

While BCA is more application-oriented, B.Sc is more concept-oriented. BCA is more focused on the current technological advancements. Candidates who have studied arts, commerce, or science can all join this course as it is application-driven. B.Sc in Computer Science is more concept-driven and does not place too much of an emphasis on applications and current technologies. Students need to have mathematics as a subject to be able to join this course.

What to do after B.Sc in computer science

WAfter completing graduation students get so many career options. Some students opt for a job immediately after their graduation. whereas some opt for post-graduation courses to avail better career opportunities. Some options after B.Sc in Computer Science are M.Sc in Computer Science, MCA, and MBA. These are the most desirable options for students who have completed B.Sc in CS.
